Work space after two coats of primer. Time to wet-sand again!

Now that we've applied the second coat of primer, it's time to wet-sand it again to get it as smooth as possible. If you think that a third coat is needed, go right ahead. Put as many coats of primer as you see fit, just remember to wet-sand in between coats to keep that surface smooth.

Starting to look like something, isn't it? Even though it resembles a battleship, once we start with the color coats, it will really take on a whole new look!

UPDATE! There's a reason the project has been at a stand-still the last couple of years. It's an agonizing story, one of great pain and suffering, and it goes like this:

I was in the process of applying the color coats when I had just put the second coat on. It was looking real good and I was allowing it to dry on a table in my "work" shed when it was knocked off the table, scratching it heavily! I only had one can of paint left, and I knew that wouldn't be enough so I went back to the Wal-Mart that I purchased the paint from and discovered that they were out!!!! I asked when they would get more, and they didn't know. I ordered 3 more cans from them and I was told that they would be in by the end of the month. This was in July I think. End of July came, and no paint! I searched every Wal-Mart I came across and found another brand, and it wasn't even the right color!! So I called Plasti-Kote and they told me that the color that I needed was only a special color and project that they were doing with Wal-Mart. They suggested that I look in more Wal-Marts!!! Needless to say, I was getting very frustrated and angry at this time, and even considered changing colors so that I could use a more readily available brand. Just as I was about to give up, I was in a Wal-Mart in Lafayette, Indiana, when I found 5 cans on the shelf!!!!! I purchased all 5 cans, and now I should have more than enough to finish the project.

I have since moved to a new house in middle Tennessee far away from northern Indiana, and now more than ever I haven't had any time to finish this project. But updating these pages has renewed my desire in finishing it so I might have to dig everything out of the shed and finish it.

Who Is MGD King?

MGD KingA lot of people ask me what does MGD King mean? Well, it was a nickname given to me because I used to drink large quantities of Miller Genuine Draft. Someone mentioned to me that I was the King of MGD, and so it stuck.
