I just posted a new theme over at the BlogEngine.net Gallery called Jacob's Ladder. Go take a look and let me know what you think. It works best on current browsers like Internet Explorer 9, FireFox, Chrome, and Opera.
You can see a working demo by clicking here.

BlogEngine 2.5 has been released! Cool new multiblog feature, Razor Themes and Pages, and a host of other cool new features! And there's a cool new theme bundled with it that I created and contributed called Titanium X which is the theme you're viewing now! Go check it out!
Great work guys!!! It's so much fun working on BE!!! I've learned alot from just tinkering with it and I can't wait to learn more!

I was tinkering around with a theme for BlogEngine and ported over the theme you're now seeing. It's a theme I created for a Simple Machines Forum and I've always liked it but the forum isn't used much and I thought that this blog could use a facelift anyway. So here it is! What do you think?

I’m not sure if my tech notes are of any help to anyone or not, but the real reason I blog about the strange things that I experience is because once I’ve found a solution to a problem that I couldn’t find by scouring the Internet, I’ll put it here for reference and also in the hopes that someone could benefit from my frustrations. Apparently my notes are of interest to some people because my site logs show that there’s a lot of people searching for resolutions for Outlook, offline files, and thumbs.db.I hope my notes help and if they don’t at least you stopped by and for that I’m thankful. I’ll continue posting (hopefully more often) with those problems that keep an IT person up at night!

Memorial Day is regarded as the “unofficial beginning of summer”, but to me it’s a day where I can say thanks to all my service Brothers and Sisters who have given the ultimate price for this country. Yes, I know it’s cliché, but it fits because I wore that uniform for nearly 10 years and I am a Veteran of Desert Shield/Storm, so it’s something that I don’t take lightly. I may not talk about my military past much, but I wouldn’t have traded it for anything. Those 10 years helped shape me into what I am today, so thank you Veterans of the past, present, and future for standing up when called upon and defending freedom.

I decided to get into the Holidays by decorating my office at work, and I figured if I'm going to decorate I might as well go all out and hang some lights along with some cool Santa stuff. My wife (MGDQueen), who's definitely the decorator in the family, wanted to help and so we spent some time over the weekend dressing up my office. We hung some Christmas lights, decorated my desk to look like a giant gift, hung a Santa Claus on the door, even put a little tree (with lights!) on my desk. More...

I've been on this rock for 38 years now (damn! I feel old!) and if you're like me then there's some things that just annoy the crap out of ya. Some are small and really meaningless while others cause my blood to boil!
So here's my breakdown of things that just bug me (in no particular order of irritation)!
Toolbars
I'm talking about the type that are installed on web browsers and how it seems every piece of software that you want to download and install asks if you'd like to install a nifty toolbar to "help with your browsing experience". More...

On this Veterans Day I thought it appropriate to post an e-mail that I have received many times over the years. Every time I receive it, I smile knowing that someone else feels the way I do! I have no idea who was the author, but I’d love to find out so that I can shake his or her hand. Hell, I’d even salute them!
